After a new issue of Asterix and Obelix, it’s Dogmatix’s turn to write a new story. With “The crossing of Lutèce”, the little white dog fights, this time without his masters, against the Romans in the heart of the ancestor of .

It’s time to return to the world of Asterix and Obelix… Or rather, this time, into that of Dogmatix. The famous four-legged companion of the Gauls has a new comic book just for him, entitled The crossing of Lutetia. Because it is already volume 7 of the adventures of Dogmatix and fans of Gallic humor are asking for more, with almost 400,000 sales already. If the little white dog appears for the first time in 1965, in the fifth album, Goscinny and Uderzo quickly had the idea of making Dogmatix a hero in his own right, especially for TV and for young audiences.

“A group of animals always resists the occupier”

Since 2021, it’s been done. And if the Asterix and Obelix albums all begin with “we are in 50 BC”, the adventures of Dogmatix begin with “we are in 52”. And this makes sense historically, because the future city of Paris actually fell at this time. “What’s quite nice is that Lutetia falls to the Romans before the rest of Gaul and loses to a Roman general called Labienus. All is lost, right? A group, this time of animals , still and again resists the Roman occupier, in Lutèce”, explains Céleste Surugue, general director of Albert René editions.

In this new opus, readers will meet Baby Dogmatix, well before his meeting with Asterix and Obelix. The crossing of Lutetiait’s a dynamic and good-natured read. Clearly, by Toutatis, it’s a success.
