How to get Final Fantasy XIV’s Halloween-themed Cat and Ghost

It’s October, which means spooky season is here! You probably already see all kinds of scary creatures, from black cats to ghosts, in your daily life, and why should video games be any different? How to get the Black Heart and Mom automaton

What is MGP and how to get it?

MGPs are obtained by participating in different activities around the Gold Saucer. The most lucrative method is to participate in GATEs which occur every 20 minutes at 20, 40 and 60 minutes. Depending on your performance, up to 4,000 MGP can be awarded during these events. So even if you do well, you’ll need to complete a handful of them to get enough points to allow you to get one or both of the minions.

Another easy option is to purchase Cactpot tickets, of which there are two types. There is a small lottery, essentially a scratch game, which can be purchased up to three times a day, and a giant lottery where you can buy three tickets per week, with the winning numbers drawn every Saturday. Since players can use MGP to purchase up to three tickets per draw, this can be a simple and effective way to collect MGP with little effort on your part.

It may seem counterintuitive to spend money when you’re trying to save for a specific prize, but the great thing about Cactpot lotteries is that even if you don’t win the jackpot, you’ll receive a consolation prize, the amount receipt being almost always more than what you spent on the actual ticket.
