The sun is experiencing a period of exceptionally high activity, as demonstrated by the northern lights observed in the Swiss sky last May, following a geomagnetic storm described as extreme and which struck the planet. The US Weather Agency (NOAA) indicates that the period of strong solar activity continues: two class another, more intense, on Thursday, of magnitude 9.0 (X9.0). They both occurred in sunspot 3842, perfectly oriented toward Earth. The X9.1 eruption is the strongest observed in 7 years.
