A trailer that predicts something heavy for the next expansion

Since the announcement of the pseudo-cancellation of The Sims 5, fans are still waiting for news about the sequel to the license. As expected, so good The Sims 4 which continues to update to add more and more content. A few hours ago, Electronic Arts even published a first trailer for the brand new upcoming expansion: To Life, To Death. The opportunity to discover a first glimpse of the new releases against a musical background offered by a Simlish version of Nothing Matters from the very good group The Last Dinner Party, a real treat.

Tarot cards, crows, reaper, ghosts, the trailer doesn’t take long to establish a perfectly adequate atmosphere that will delight Halloween fans. Concerning the extension itself, as its name indicates very well, it plans to focus on everything that directly or indirectly concerns the death of your Sims. For the living, this therefore means everything that surrounds preparation for death. But it is especially for the deceased that this extension will produce miracles. We’ll give you a quick summary of the new features a little further down.

What’s in the Sims 4 Life and Death expansion?

First of all, we remind you that in the world of Sims 4, expansion packs are the most provided (and also the most expensive) additional content. By purchasing From Life to Death, you will unlock a very large number of additional possibilities, starting with a whole new town called Ravenwood. Divided into three different districts, it will allow you to meet several ghosts who haunt the place and to stroll through cemeteriesan element that we have been waiting for for a long time. Note that the more adventurous will also be able to enter crypts to tell scary stories… or to do more intimate things.

But in addition to the city, there are a whole bunch of new features that you will have access to in this new expansion. We note, for example, the arrival of the wish list a you Journey of the soultwo new customizable mechanics that seem to unite aspirations and desires. By accomplishing all the life objectives that a Sim sets for themselves, the latter will be able to obtain the possibility of reincarnating with the Blazing Soul special trait after his death.

Moreover, even once you switch the weapon to the left, you will now finally be able to continue playing with your Sim in the form of a ghost ! To clarify things, know that it was already possible to play a ghost in the base game, but everything seems much simpler and above all much more useful now. Indeed, ghosts will be able to continue their Journey of the soul to complete their unfinished business, and above all to do things that the living cannot do.

We note, for example, that ghosts will have access to new ghostly powers to cause trouble, show kindness, or something in between. They will also be able to form special relationships to form duos and thus indulge in spectral crack-crack sessions inside objects of various shapes and sizes. Finally, ghosts will also be able to obtain Essence of Fear or Benevolence through their interactions with living Sims in order to earn Simoleons.

Among the new features reserved for the living, we especially note the arrival of two new careers: the profession Reaper and career Funeral staff. If the second is only a classic career (which will still allow you to be a Undertaker or a Funeral director), it is especially the first which risks delighting fans since it will allow neither more nor less become the Reaper ! At higher levels, Sims in this career can even choose to reap some souls and bring others back to life. Once collected, souls can be placed in the Afterlife Portal to satisfy the soul quota.

Before passing to the other side, Sims will also be able to write wills. Thanks to them, it will be possible to assign family heirlooms to specific people, leave personal messages, create emotional reactions for loved ones who read their will, indicate their preference for the management of their remains, make requests for organizing their funeral and designate other Sims who will take care of their animals or children.

With the To Life and Death expansion, it will also be possible toorganize real funerals which you can personalize to your liking. Be careful, however, because losing a loved one will lead to a period of mourning which can be experienced in four different ways: Denial, Resilience in the face of grief, Anger and Depression. Fortunately, it will be possible to go to grief therapy to deal with it.

As usual, the new extension also brings a new aspiration (ghost historian) and new character traits (Macabre, Pursued or pursued by Death and Skeptical).
