The Google Pixel 9a should get rid of the photo block, resulting in a fairly clean design.
We already guessed that the Google Pixel 9a should have, like a Galaxy S24 FE, a slightly less powerful chip than the model on which it is inspired, the Pixel 9. Now a first idea of its design makes surface.
The well-known OnLeaks is at the helm of this new leak, in partnership with Android Headlines.
Adieu bloc photo
First observation, the Google Pixel 9a would contrast with the design language established by Google with the Pixel 6. Exit the photo block, we would only keep the oblong shape for the glass housing the two photo modules, undoubtedly a wide-angle and a ultra wide angle. The LED flash would be placed on the same right as these two modules to complete a resolutely discreet, not to say austere, style.
This is reminiscent of the Pixel 4 or 5 which focused on a fairly minimalist and cute design. We can also mention the Galaxy S which for several years have gotten rid of the photo block (since the S22 with the Ultra and the S23 with the other two).
A reasonable choice
A rather ingenious idea which should both prevent the Pixel 9a from suffering too much from comparison with the Pixel 9, particularly careful in terms of finishes this year, while ensuring that the Pixel 9 itself is indeed distinguished from its little brother.
Because this one would have a fairly similar technical sheet with a rather compact format, 6.1 inch screen, and a Tensor G4 chip undoubtedly slightly redesigned.
The Pixel 9a should be announced in May 2025 at Google I/O.
