Oppo Find X8’s Dimensity 9400 Outperforms Apple A18 Pro in New Geekbench Multi-Core Test

Recent reports have suggested that MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400 will make its official debut in October, which is next month. Qualcomm is also hosting Snapdragon Summit next month, where the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be fully unveiled. Weeks before the official announcement, MediaTek’s new flagship SoC has been making the rounds on Geekbench.

In one of the recent listings, which is said to be the Oppo Find X8 with Dimensity 9400, MediaTek’s new flagship SoC has achieved a higher multi-core score than the Oppo Find X8’s SoC with Dimensity 9400 in early testing of the Apple A18 Pro. The latter is the latest SoC that powers the iPhone 16 Pro models.

Specifically, the alleged Oppo Find X8 scored a multi-core score of 8,833. For comparison, in one of the recent benchmark tests, the Apple A18 Pro scored a multi-core score of 8,492. This means that MediaTek’s new flagship SoC from MediaTek scored about 4% higher in this segment.

Things change when you consider the single-core score. On these specific Geekbench tests, the Apple A18 Pro scored 3,409, while the Oppo Find X8 with Dimensity 9400 scored 2,889. So, the iPhone 16 Pro’s SoC has a more than 17% lead over MediaTek’s flagship in this comparison.

However, the Dimensity 9400’s single-core and multi-core scores are higher than the Dimensity 9300. In our benchmarks, the latter scored 2,207 and 7,408 points, respectively. So, in what appears to be the Oppo Find X8’s listing, the new MediaTek SoC is nearly 31% faster in single-core and about 19% faster in multi-core.

But, again, this is an early Geekbench run of the Dimensity 9400, and scores may differ after the SoC is officially announced, so take it with a pinch of salt.
