Anthrax's long-awaited new album will be released in September or October 2025, after eight years of silence. The group is preparing for a major world tour to mark this return.

An expected return after eight years

During the convention NAMM this weekend in Anaheim, California, Anthrax bassist Frank Bello confirmed the band's next album will be released in September or October 2025. It will follow For All Kingsreleased in 2016.

“It’s been a while… eight years! We have a new album, and 2025 will be our year. We have big tour plans and major shows in the works,” Bello told American Musical Supplyadding that the group plans to stay on the road for a while.

The announcement marks the end of a long wait for fans. Anthrax began working on this album several years ago, but various unforeseen events, including personal changes for Bello and logistical constraints, pushed back its release. Last November, Bello returned to Studio 606 by Dave Grohl to record the bass tracks.

A world tour in perspective

With the release of the new album, Anthrax are planning a massive world tour, true to their reputation as a tireless band on stage. Although the details of the dates have not yet been revealed, Bello mentioned major upcoming concerts: “We have some really big shows planned, but I can’t talk about them yet. I’m very excited.”
