GPT-4b micro: A new frontier in cellular reprogramming
Retro Biosciences aims to extend the normal human lifespan by 10 years. To do this, the latter studies what we call the Yamanka factors. It is actually a set of proteins capable of reprogramming a human skin cell into a youthful-looking stem cell.
These cells have the ability to differentiate into any type of specific cell in the human body, such as muscle, nerve, or even heart cells. This property makes them essential for regenerating damaged tissues, creating replacement organs or developing new treatments against degenerative diseases.

Precisely how GPT-4b works and how it reaches its conclusions remains unclear, a common occurrence with AI models. “ It’s a bit like AlphaGo, which beat the best Go player: it took a while to understand why », Explains Joe Betts-Lacroix, general manager of Retro Biosciences.
We’re still discovering what this model can actually do, and we think we’re only exploiting a tiny part of it.
However, today, this technique of “ reprogramming cellular » remains ineffectiverequiring several weeks to achieve a result, with less than 1% of treated cells reaching the final stage of rejuvenation in a laboratory.
In addition, the model is not yet accessible for wider use: it remains a demonstration to prove the seriousness of this contribution to science and not an official product launch, recalls Aaron Jaech, one of the main developers of the GPT-4b micro model.
External scientists will have to wait for the results to be published; this step of transparency is essential to allow independent validation and ensure that the results are not based on bias or error. Without this validation, the announcements remain for the time being promises awaiting concrete proof.
