Thursday January 23 afternoon, the Ty Kerjean nursing home in Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem welcomed Jean-Louis Coatrieux, researcher specializing in medical digital imaging, writer and essayist, Dr Antoine Lucas, vascular surgeon at the University Hospital of Rennes and Delphine Lebret, doctoral student in adaptive radiotherapy, for a meeting with the nursing staff. Their objective: to share knowledge to better prevent injuries linked to aging and a sedentary lifestyle.
Youth awareness
Ahead of this event, these experts also spoke to 3rd and 6th grade students from the city’s middle school. This meeting was part of the “School Ambition” project, launched by the college and the town hall of Saint-Nicolas-du-Pélem. The exchange with the students helped awaken young people’s curiosity about medical sciences, while raising their awareness of health and research issues.
These two highlights demonstrate a common desire to bring together the educational, medical and local worlds to support future generations and better respond to the challenges of old age.
