Zoé Joséphine, a 22-year-old from Liége, took part in The Voice Kids France. Today, she releases a short but personal album, echoing her sensitivity.
At twenty-two years old, Zoé Joséphine is an author, composer and performer, in addition to having created her own label. The young Liégeois began her career on The Voice Kids France, when she was spotted by the jury. Today, she released a mini-album consisting of five songs entitled “Our hearts and our weaknesses”.
“I tell myself that I grew up a lot, it was a great experience because I learned lots of things. It’s true that at my age, being on a set like The Voice Kids brings us a lot in terms of learning, musicians… It’s a good experience“, she confides on set.
Through her pieces, Zoé explores the world around her through current events: “I’m really inspired by everything that happens around me, everything I see on TV, everything I see on the news. I realize that I write very few love songs, if at all. And on the one hand, I tell myself that there’s really enough of it, so why not sing something else? But yes, what’s happening in the world is what inspires me the most“.
-It was a choice to leave pieces longer than 4 minutes
Through five pieces, the young artist reveals herself, all in simplicity: “I really wanted to reflect the way and especially the situation in which I write my pieces. That is to say most of the time in pajamas or socks and training, behind my piano, just a notebook, my phone on dictaphone. This is how I write most of the time“.
Four minutes is the average duration of the creations that make up his album. “For this EP, I wanted to release my songs as naturally as possible, as they were originally written, without shortening them. It was a choice to leave songs longer than 4 minutes, that’s what I also love to listen to. I’m always a little frustrated when the songs last 2 minutes 30, there’s something missing“, she concluded.
