On July 25, Joe Velaidum and Laura Kelly, a couple who live in Prince Edward Island, had quite a surprise. As they returned home from walking their dogs, they realized their driveway had served as a landing pad… for a small meteorite. Yes yes. A rock straight from space!

Luckily for us (we’re very curious, as you know), their surveillance camera captured the fall. You can see the video above (turn up your volume!).

The couple quickly sent the video and photos of the debris left on the ground to scientists in Alberta. Verdict: it is indeed a meteorite. And it’s very rare that we can have such clear video of such a fall. Especially because we can hear the sound made by the impact! Do you think it sounds like broken glass?
