To believe in the flat Earth, must we be irredeemable in the face of facts and reason? Not for a “star” of these followers, who, to rally around reality, agreed to go to Antarctica.
For those who are unaware of the geography of the flat Earth, you should know that according to the followers of this theory, the Antarctic continent does not exist. Instead, there is an impenetrable wall of ice that goes all the way around the plate that our planet is supposed to be, thus preventing the water in the oceans from emptying.
A wall of ice
However, the Earth-flatter in question, Jeran Campanella, went to Antarctica – to Union Glacier Camp, located 1138 km from the South Pole -, with two other believers, as part of a trip entitled The Final Experiment.
He was not converted to reality by the fact that he did not see a wall of ice, but rather by the Sun.
-This is because in December, the Sun never sets, making a complete revolution at the horizon. While in the flat Earth model there is neither a North nor a South pole, the Sun would be supposed to circle above the Earth, illuminating one continent then the other, like a projector in the theater.
The stories of a Sun visible for 24 hours would therefore be inventions created by a great global conspiracy.
