A truck is intercepted with a dangerous substance
Valais police arrested a heavy goods vehicle registered in Romania on Monday, which was leaking a highly flammable and corrosive liquid.
The rapid intervention of the police made it possible to avoid any risk for road safety and the environment, assure the police.

A semi-trailer registered in Romania was intercepted Monday evening by the Valais cantonal police near St-Maurice. A highly flammable and corrosive liquid escaped from a damaged metal drum of the heavy goods vehicle which was traveling on the A9 motorway from Lausanne towards Martigny.
The substance, classified as dangerous and representing a danger to the environment, requires strict packaging and signage to prevent any risk, indicates the police.
The rapid intervention of the police made it possible to avoid any risk for road safety and the environment, the police assured Tuesday in a press release. The driver was reported to the Road Traffic and Navigation Department and faces a heavy fine.
