Chrono Odyssey underwent internal testing last year, awaiting a planned release at the end of the year. Until then, the MMORPG promises “events” (presumably a beta) and invites the curious to register on the official website.
In August last year, we remembered Yun Sang Tae, the producer of Chrono Odysseypublished an open letter to players, discussing the finalization of the development of the MMORPG. We will still have to wait before the game’s release (scheduled for the end of the year), but the launch of a beta test could be imminent.
This is what the developer suggests on social networks. The development team invites players to subscribe to the newsletter on the official website “for those eager to benefit from early access to upcoming events”. The studio does not specify the nature of the “events” in question, but we remember that as part of its quarterly accounts, the publisher Kakao Games mentioned the organization of a closed beta during the “first quarter of 2025”. This could well be one of the “events” in question.
A release planned for the end of the year on PC and consoles
For the record, Chrono Odyssey has already been the subject of internal tests in South Korea, having notably contributed to significantly changing the combat mechanics. They are now considered “more engaging and immersive”, based on six classes of playable characters and space-time management techniques. The closed beta must validate these developments more massively, while waiting for a communication campaign planned for next summer (in particular on the occasion of the gamescom). The release initially announced for the third quarter was postponed to the fourth quarter, but the launch therefore remains planned for this year on PC (via Steam and theEpic Games Store), PlayStation 5 et Xbox Series.
Chrono Odyssey is presented as an open-world MMORPG, Setera, designed with Unreal Engine 5. The six character classes will be able to use a “Chronotector”, this artifact allowing travel in time and space, in the past as in the future. The era will modify the nature of the universe (in particular via the degree of advancement of the corruption of the void, which is plaguing the world of Setera), and the choice of the era will have consequences on the gameplay. For the curious who would like to discover Chrono Odyssey in concrete terms, registration for the newsletter is open on the official website – presumably while waiting for the tests to come soon.
