On TikTok, a second-hand expert claims to have found the foolproof trick to sell in batches, quickly and efficiently, on the Lithuanian application.
“To sell a lot more, and make more money, you simply need to get people to look at your items more,” Lisa, a British influencer specializing in second-hand advice, explains on TikTok. According to the expert, the most important thing on Vinted is to ensure that the clothing and accessories on sale can pass through the algorithm of as many people as possible. For this, she has her solution: “When you are about to put an item up for sale, you write a short description. In this case, add the following sentence to it: “Please take a look at my other items, I am sorting through them.”
These simple words that we add to the description of a product will, according to Lisa, encourage users of the application to “look at the rest of your wardrobe”. The reason? “If you specify that you are organizing a major sorting, this implies that you want to get rid of your products quickly. And therefore your items will be put on sale at affordable prices.” A clever tactic that should still be taken with a pinch of salt. Orchestrating a large closet clearance on Vinted can indeed encourage some users to buy more quickly. For fear, probably, of missing out on an article that they have just added to their favorites. However, selling a lot, and selling well, on the second-hand platform involves considering other, more important factors.

Pay attention to details
We sell better, for example, when our profile is “well rated” and we have made several sales beforehand. Also, items are always more attractive if the photos are taken correctly, with optimal quality and the whole thing is photographed from all angles. Or if the prices we set are reasonable, or the brands we offer are in demand at the time we post the ad. Indeed, Vinted remains an application widely used by collectors of branded clothing and accessories on the lookout for very specific products. It also depends on the time at which the products are put online, and the time of year: there is a greater chance that users will spend their money on Vinted at Christmas than between January and February, a period hollow.
What you need to understand, then, is that warning the Vinted community that we are organizing a closet clearance where everything must go quickly is one thing. The seller's profile still needs to inspire confidence and their wardrobe needs to inspire. Without forgetting that, like any online resale platform, Vinted is not spared from scams…
