Nearly a year after the Galaxy Fit 3’s global release, the fitness tracker will now officially be sold in the United States. The Galaxy Fit 3 will be available for less than half the price of the Galaxy Watch FE, while offering a handful of the same fitness and health tracking features.

When Samsung announced the Galaxy Fit 3 in February 2024, as the latest model in its line of fitness trackers that hadn’t been updated in nearly four years, it surprisingly left the United States out of markets where the device was officially available. Now, a year later, it has reversed that decision and announced that the fitness tracker will now officially be sold in the United States.

The Galaxy Fit 3 will be available on Samsung’s website as well as in partner stores starting January 9, 2025. It will cost $59.99, less than half the price of the Galaxy Watch FE, which is the cheapest smartwatch from Samsung (currently available on Amazon for $159.99).

However, although the Galaxy Fit 3 is a fitness tracker, unlike the full-fledged smartwatch that is the Galaxy Watch FE, the two wearables have a handful of features in common. In addition to measuring heart rate and stress levels, the Galaxy Fit 3 has sleep tracking with coaching, snoring detection, and monitoring of blood oxygen saturation levels. The fitness tracker also has personalized tracking for over 100 workouts.

Other features of the Galaxy Fit 3 include an AMOLED AOD display, ambient light sensor, barometer, and an aluminum body with a matte finish. It features an IP68 dust and water resistance rating and a 5ATM rating. Its battery can last up to 13 days on a single charge, which may make it more appealing than a real smartwatch that can barely last a day before needing to be recharged.

It can also control playback on the connected device, respond to text messages, and act as a remote control for your phone’s camera. In the event of an emergency, owners can press the home button five times to notify emergency contact persons.

Samsung will offer the Galaxy Fit 3 in gray, silver, and pink when it becomes available for purchase on January 9.
