Nvidia will launch its RTX 5080 GPU very soon. There will likely be an associated Founder’s Edition graphics card, but several other manufacturers will also offer custom versions, which usually add better cooling and overclocking.

One of these custom graphics cards, the MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Trio OC Editionhas just leaked. The source, Chiphellremoved his article and photos from his website, but the internet does not forget and the damage has already been done. As its name suggests, this graphics card from MSI is distinguished by the presence of three fans instead of just one. Also unsurprisingly, the product should require 2.5 slots of space.

RTX 5080 : 16 GB of VRAM and a 256-bit bus

The box tells us that this graphics card is based on 16 GB of GDDR7 memory and a 256-bit bus. The memory speed is not indicated, it could reach 30 Gbps according to previous leaks. The MSI GeForce RTX 5080 Gaming Trio OC Edition has three DisplayPorts and an HDMI connector, but the versions of the two standards are not specified. It’s not mentioned on the packaging, but we expect a PCIe 5.0 interface for all new Blackwell GPUs.

Unfortunately, the box is quite stingy with technical details. It says that the graphics card is compatible with DLSS technology, but again, without indicating a version. Is this the already available DLSS 3.5 or a new generation of DLSS 4? It’s not this leak that will tell us. Like the other RTX 50s, the RTX 5080’s GPU, the GB203-400 and its 10,752 CUDA cores, is based on a 4NP node from TSMC, which has a density 30% higher than that of the RTX 40s.

The RTX 5080 should be the first Blackwell generation graphics card officially announced by Nvidia, even before the RTX 5090. It would be presented on January 6, 2025 at CES in Las Vegas by CEO Jensen Huang, for availability from January 21.
