Ur Banne Kafé. A universe with two atmospheres

Patrice and Véronique opened Ur Banne Kafé at the end of October, instead of the Gwened pub. A new name in the form of a play on words, “ur banne” meaning “a drink” in Breton, and “urban” meaning “urban” in English. The new owners have created two atmospheres: sport-oriented downstairs and trendy lounge and zen upstairs, with a games room (darts and table football). With their bartender Henri, they want to make it “a multicultural meeting point”. Wednesday at 4 p.m., they invited Hocine Hadjali and Marie Naud. Their musical tale “Name of a Hen” delighted the children who came in large numbers (photo). They will come back once a month. Next show on February 24.

Jazz jams, concerts, karaoke…

Other highlights that punctuate the life of the bar: a jazz jam every Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., a concert one Friday per month (the rock of Extrasystoles on January 29 at 9:30 p.m., the jazz of Poinciania on February 26) and live karaoke on a Thursday evening per month (next February 18). The bosses also offer to organize birthday parties, professional meetings or even going-away drinks. They are also open to any proposal for an exhibition of paintings or the organization of workshops (pottery, music, drawing, etc.). There is also the possibility of dining for lunch and dinner (couscous, stew, variety of crumbles, etc.) with a dish of the day at 8.50EUR and a menu at 12.50EUR (starter, main course, dessert). Practical Ur Banne Kafé, open Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m., in Kerluherne, route de Saint-Anne. Tel: 02.97.63.44.43.
