It appears that from January 1, 2025, WhatsApp will stop working on a number of older Android smartphones released more than a decade ago.

The messaging app is constantly updated with advanced artificial intelligence features and robust security protocols that require more advanced hardware and software. Users of these devices will no longer be able to send or receive messages via WhatsApp from January 1.
