Microsoft is once again trying to attract attention to the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 with an extensive advertising campaign. Many Windows users may have seen an overlay in the form of a notification in recent days in which Microsoft promotes the latest installment of the tactical shooter series, reports Windows Latest among others. Microsoft also confirmed the new marketing wave around Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, launched on the market by the publisher Activision, which is part of the software group. Instead of talking about advertising, according to the Redmond-based company, it is a “notification” intended to inform users of the availability of the new installment of the game series. However, it's hard to hide the fact that Microsoft is trying to sell Windows users something through the notification. The small window also has a “Buy Now” button that can be used to purchase the game from the Microsoft Store.
The same “game” is currently being played with a “notification” that asks the user to better protect their system with Microsoft's own Defender security solution. However, this is another attempt to attract new customers to subscribe to Microsoft 365, which is only apparent at second glance. Microsoft's aggressive use of Windows 10 and 11 as a way to market other products it develops is angering many users. You at least have the option in the notification display settings to disable “receiving tips and suggestions when using Windows”, which means that advertising notifications used in these two cases can be disabled.
