Samsung has quietly integrated a particularly useful new feature into One UI 7.0, its latest user interface. This feature, absent from the official changelog, allows users to filter available Wi-Fi networks according to different criteria.
Good news for Samsung smartphone users who will soon switch to the new One UI 7.0 version, Samsung has included a feature that allows you to customize your Wi-Fi settings. This advanced filtering option offers the ability to display only certain types of Wi-Fi networks, thus simplifying the search for a connection adapted to your needs. For example, users can choose to see only secure networks or only Wi-Fi 6 networks.
To access this hidden function, you must follow a specific path in the settings: “ Settings > Connexions > Wi-Fi > Plus d’options > Wi-Fi intelligent “. Then, you must press the version number of the smart Wi-Fi several times until the menu “ Connectivity Labs “. The last step is to activate the option “ Use the filter menu ».
One UI 7.0 lets you filter Wi-Fi
The available filters are numerous and varied:
- Open (open networks)
- Secured
- 2 GHz, 5 GHz, 6 GHz (frequency bands)
- Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 7 (Wi-Fi norms)
It is important to note that not all of these filters will be available on all devices. Filtering options depend on the Wi-Fi specifications of each Galaxy smartphone or tablet. For example, older devices will not have access to the 6 GHz, Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 filters, while newer models like the Galaxy S24 Ultra will benefit from all the options.
Samsung is currently in the middle of rolling out the second beta of One UI 7.0, which brings a series of improvements. Among them, Game Booster optimizations, removal of the “Secured by Knox” watermark, and various quick panel adjustments.
