On the tire side, this is the most recent evolution of the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 which was graciously offered to Carrera GT owners. Phenomenal erasers, the effectiveness of which we can personally attest to. With these two crucial updates, a Carrera GT was taken by our German colleagues from Sport Auto on the long route of the Nürburgring, where the legendary Walter Röhrl had achieved a time of 7:28” in 2024. This time, it It was Porsche driver Jörg Bergmeister who whipped the improved car, and completed the lap of the Green Hell in 7:12”. Sixteen seconds better, 20 years later! It says a lot about the untapped potential of the Carrera GT, about the things that the engineers of the time missed, and about the incredible advances in tires.
