30 stores in the Ile-de-France region have added the Deliveroo service
This functionality is mainly available, to date, for Parisians and Ile-de-France residents, since 30 Intermarché stores have a window on Deliveroo in this area. Other cities (Toulouse, Marseille, Lille, Orléans, etc.) also have this option. Given how the group operates, each member remains free to be present or not on the British platform. He can also decide on the assortment present on the site and the price of the products displayed to mobile users using Deliveroo.
During our visit to the application, we noted that in general, almost all product categories are present, with ranges that are certainly more restricted, and prices that are often more expensive than in stores. Deliveroo offers, thanks to its independent delivery drivers, delivery in less than 30 minutes billed according to the amount of purchases or free if customers are registered with the Deliveroo Plus loyalty program.
With its client companies, the service provider is remunerated with a fixed commission. Which can change if the baskets become larger, if the brands carry out promotions or charge identical prices in stores and on the platform, for example.
No more exclusivities, brands often work with Uber Eats and Deliveroo
Intermarché also works in parallel with American competitor Uber Eats to provide its customers with the possibility of express delivery. Like him, all distributors collaborate with several service providers to offer this fast home delivery option. “We established exclusive contracts with Franprix and Monoprix when we started in this vertical, in 2019. Today we do not have exclusivity with distributors, rather with independent food businesses”distinguishes Laurent Nhhuon-Nougarede.
Deliveroo is not very voluble when it comes to figures… However, the group assures that, in the 10 countries where the stylized kangaroo brand is present, racing activity is progressing. In the first half of 2024, it represented 14% of business volume, compared to 11% in the same period last year.. Home delivery of meals cooked by restaurateurs remains, by far, its flagship activity. In France, the platform has a total of 30,000 restaurateurs and 4,500 stores and food businesses.
