Miss Martinique won the Miss France beauty pageant on Saturday, having been the oldest contestant to ever compete.
A Miss like no other? Miss France 2025 was crowned on Saturday evening and it was Miss Martinique who won the competition. She is over 34 years old, and to win, she made her age an asset. This was also the whole challenge of Miss committees around the world. How to freshen up these beauty contests? How to inject a little modernity?
Angélique Angarni-Filopon herself didn’t really believe in it. She achieved two records: she is the first Miss Martinique to be elected Miss France and she is the first Miss France over 30 years old. She was already the first candidate over 30 years old since the rules were changed and the age barrier ended at 25 in 2022.
However, she assumed it on Sunday on TF1, perhaps her age was an asset. “I am reminded of my age all the time, I think I am well preserved. I have no wrinkles,” she says. Miss France pleads in any case for thirty-somethings. “It’s perhaps the best age. In my twenties, I searched a lot for myself, I wanted to be like everyone else,” she says.
“It’s never too late to make your dreams come true,” she commented. As soon as she was elected, she wanted to dedicate her victory “to all the women who were told one day that it was too late”.

Who is Miss France?
She is a native of Ile-de-France who chose, a year ago, to live on her parents’ island. She wants to inspire women who aspire to change their lives. She had already presented herself to Miss Martinique 13 years ago. A first failure. Never mind. Following a bet between friends, she entered the competition again and won. A revenge. She also has a word for little girls who are made fun of, or even harassed.
“I was very small until fifth grade, and I had front teeth, they called me little pony,” she confides.
It is on this experience that she built her dream. That of becoming Miss France. “It was a little girl’s dream at first, then it turned into a young woman’s desire. I had a real desire to represent something different,” she says.
She convinced part of the public. Coming in second position behind Miss Nord-Pas de Calais, it was the jury’s vote that propelled Angélique Angarni-Filopon to the top.
