Google wants to remain the master of generative artificial intelligence (AI) which it has been developing in Zurich for many years. This week, he launched Gemini 2.0 for “Advanced” subscribers, of which I am one. He also made Deep Research available. Obviously, we started testing all that!
Let’s start with Gemini 2.0, more precisely “Flash experimental” which is already available in Switzerland in addition to other traditional models. The speed of this new version is impressive and facilitates intensive use for general tasks.
Intensive use of Gemini 2.0
While making various videos at the end of last week, I used this service extensively to solve problems and/or train myself on the CapCut editing software developed by the TikTok publisher. The results have simply been impressive in this use.
Such speed will revolutionize the way we work, since we will be able to constantly self-train at lightning speed. Indeed, these new AIs are capable of searching online help and offering us solutions at lightning speed.
Google Deep Research does not convince
Even if Google Deep Research is not yet available in Switzerland, we did not hesitate to do what was necessary to launch initial research using the Gemini 1.5 Pro Deep Research model, accessible only from the United States with an account ” Advanced”.
Big surprise, this time, we sometimes have to wait for long minutes to get the answers to our questions. Unfortunately, this model still seems experimental to say the least. Even if he reviews and synthesizes dozens of internet pages, the results are often false, as I have observed, as has a student at EPFL…
