The Black Ops 6 Season 1 Reloaded update arrives at the beginning of December and will bring the biggest Zombies update since the game's launch. On the program: a new map, miracle weapons, new events and much more .
With two Zombies maps already available at launch and a new one just a month later, Treyarch is accelerating the pace of additions to the delight of fans. This mid-season update also enriches Warzone with Ranked mode on Urzikstan, new multiplayer maps and the CODMAS event.
But if you're more of a Zombies mode fan, here's everything you need to know about the Season 1 Reloaded update.
BO6 Zombies Season 1 Reloaded Release Date
The Zombies Season 1 Reloaded update will be available on Thursday December 5. The exact time is not yet confirmed, but Call of Duty updates usually arrive around 6 p.m.
As a reminder, Season 1 was launched a few hours early, so be careful, because this update could arrive sooner than expected.
The Citadel of the Dead map
The big news in Season 1 Reloaded of Black Ops 6 is the introduction of the Citadel of the Dead map. Set in an abandoned medieval castle in Avalon, this new adventure transports the Requiem team to a setting that is as mysterious as it is frightening.
Kevin Drew, Associate Design Director for Zombies at Treyarch, explains: “We left Terminus to find Dr. Krafft, an occult expert linked to the Sentinel artifact we are desperately seeking. This artifact is essential to continuing our quest.“
This card marks the continuation of the story that began with Terminus. Treyarch also confirmed that all future updates will follow this narrative thread. In addition to the castle, players will be able to explore an old village while facing hordes of undead and a new type of enemies lurking in the ruins.
When will the main secret of Citadel of the Dead be available?
The main secret (main quest) of the Citadel of the Dead will be available from the launch of the card. Unlike the main quests in Terminus and Liberty Falls, which were activated a few hours after launch, this one will be accessible immediately to all players. Get ready, because the race for the first decryption promises to be intense!
New content for Zombies mode
- Four Elemental Swords as Wonder Weapons
- GobbleGum Powder Magazine (generates a Full Power bonus)
- GobbleGum Expiration (temporarily stops the round)
- GobbleGum Holiday Spirit (all zombies appear in festive outfits)
- Light Healer ammo mod (zombies drop health orbs to heal players)
- Vulture Elixir perk (this perk allows zombies to drop ammo, loot, and more)
- Tesla Storm combat upgrade (electrocutes nearby zombies and shares this effect with your teammates)
- Hand cannon
- New enemy type
- 18 new increases
Drew explained why Treyarch went with four swords for wonder weapons: “We have a dedicated melee weapon slot in this game, so it made perfect sense that certain swords would be wonder weapons. Additionally, we like to use elemental weapons so that each player can identify with one of the four weapons.“
The Vulture Elixir is back for the first time since the Buried map from Black Ops 2 in 2013. As a reminder, this asset allowed you to see through walls (mystery box, weapons on the walls, assets, machine Sacred Punch…) and to make small pockets of ammunition appear from time to time, bonus points on killed zombies (via yellow orbs).
Among the other powers of this elixir, the latter sometimes allowed you to appear a greenish cloud after killing a zombie which, once you had passed through it, made you look like one of them in the eyes of the zombies. Finally, Vulture's elixir also made zombies' eyes shine more, making them more visible.

It is possible that the operation of the Vulture Elixir was revised for Black Ops 6 (in particular with the new Augmentations mechanic), but the advantages conferred by it at the time made it a very appreciated asset for players of Black Ops 2.
Storm Tesla is also back, and it bonds to anyone near you, turning your team into an army of lightning zombies.
The Light Mend ammo mod causes zombies to drop health orbs that you can pick up if you're low on health.
The new enemy type is called “Doppelghast”. Little information is currently known, but we still have a first visual of this creature with the following description: “Roam the dark and eerie corridors, guarding the ruins of the Citadel of the Dead“.
Gameplay Changes for Season 1 Reloaded
- Manglers appear less frequently from mid to high rounds.
- Limiting the number of active Manglers until round 100.
- Manglers' arm cannon becomes easier to destroy.
- Special rounds will be significantly shorter.
Armes miracles
Several miracle weapons will appear with the Citadel of the Dead map. According to leaks, it would be the Lame ombrale a you Wonder weapon DG-2.
The Wunderwaffe will arrive in BO6 at some point.
According to dataminer 'alanthethird_90', the Umbral Blade has four variants, but their specifics remain unknown for the moment. As for the Wunderwaffe DG-2, it was spotted in the game files and seen in the Liberty Falls trailer. However, it is not guaranteed that it will be available as of this update.
New weapons
Three new weapons will also be added in this update and will be unlockable through events:
- The Maelstrom automatic shotgun
- The AMR Mod 4 precision rifle (similar to the Barret .50 Cal)
- A melee weapon: Cleaver
Maelstrom promises to be formidable on Citadel of the Dead and other maps. As for the AMR Mod 4, its firepower will likely make it a strategic choice for eliminating enemies from a distance.
Jingle Hells
Jingle Hells mode, introduced in Black Ops Cold War, returns in Black Ops 6 with a revisited version of the Liberty Falls map. Here are the new features:
- Enemies sport festive skins and names.
- The Arsenal Machine has been removed.
- Snowballs make their return, allowing you to freeze and kill zombies.
- Some zombies drop gifts containing bonus weapons and items.
- A special round forces you to seek shelter indoors as the cold slows and freezes players.
- Naughty or Nice Power-Up
- “Bad guy” summons Plaguehounds for 30 seconds
- “Kind” gives you a gift
