Key information

  • With the upcoming iOS 18.2 update, Apple could eventually make it possible to see how much time your iPhone still has to charge up to a certain percentage.
  • This new feature is part of a series of features aimed at helping users maintain battery health for longer.
  • However, it is not yet certain whether this new feature will actually be added when iOS 18.2 is available to all users.

The next version of Apple’s iOS mobile operating system looks set to introduce a new feature when charging your iPhone. With this feature, your iPhone will display the required charging time up to a certain percentage.

Website 9to5mac has discovered an amazing new feature in the beta version of the latest iOS 18.2. Called “BatteryIntelligence”, it is currently deactivated. However, it would allow iPhone users to get information about how long it will take your device to reach a certain charge level.

Battery health

The new feature will build on existing features to preserve the health of your iPhone’s battery. Indeed, with iOS 18 you can limit the maximum load to 80, 85, 90 or 95 percent. This will have a positive long-term effect on battery life.

Additionally, iOS 18 alerts users if you charge your iPhone with a slower charger than possible.

Although the option for the new feature is present in the iOS 18.2 beta, it is unclear whether Apple will add it to the latest version of its mobile operating system.
