From May 5, 2025, the application that allows you to send and receive messages and make calls, WhatsApp, will no longer be compatible with certain iPhone operating systems. Here is the list of models that will no longer be supported.
The application, which is owned by Meta, indicated on its website that from this date only “iOS version 15.1 and later will be supported”.
The operating systems versions iOS 12, iOS 13 and iOS 14 will no longer be supported.
Concretely, all people who own an iPhone 5s (2013), iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus (2014) will no longer be able to install WhatsApp on their device.
WhatsApp explains that before support ends, each affected user will receive a notification and several reminders to complete the upgrade.

Remember that in October 2023, the same fate befell Android users. Since then, only Android OS version 5.0 and above are supported.
“Devices and software evolve often. We therefore regularly check the operating systems we support and make updates,” we can read in the WhatsApp Online Help Center.
The application says it takes stock of the devices and software that are the oldest and have the fewest users. “These devices may also not have the latest security updates,” it says.
