It’s been several months now that we’ve been hearing about the return of the Crazy Taxi franchise. But while the information surrounding the title was still quite evasive, SEGA recently gave more details on the next installment of the license.

The new Crazy Taxi will be a game-service
In a recently released video aimed at reinforcing the development teams in charge of the project, Sega Sapporo confirmed that the game will indeed be a service-based game that will take place in a vast open world, as suggested last February by various rumors.
The studio also mentions having had difficulties in transitioning from a single-player game to a multiplayer game, but claims to have made “great progress” in the development process.
The video below shows several teams from the game, including the people in charge of artistic direction and level design, as well as some gameplay clips.
We see brief sequences with the police, while it is confirmed that customization will play a significant role in the experience. In addition to your taxi, you should also be able to customize your character and we obviously can’t wait to discover more about the game.
We will also have to be patient since the studio is currently looking to strengthen its workforce and no release date has been announced.
