After experiencing several technical difficulties, Dragon’s Dogma II is finally more digestible thanks to the latest update deployed by Capcom.

Dragon’s Dogma II’s condition improves on consoles

Released on March 22, Dragon’s Dogma II has been taken to task by many players who have criticized its technical aspect. Crashes, framerate drops, CPU overload and many other problems have been pointed out by players, whether they play on consoles or PC. And while Capcom has resolved some of these issues, the experience remains unstable, especially on PS5 and Xbox Series.

But Capcom is on the right track. The studio has recently deployed a new update that aims once again to fix these issues. Thus, we discover with the patch note shared on the game’s website that the CPU overload issues encountered in certain regions of the game have been fixed, an option to switch graphics to high/low has been added and a 120Hz mode has also been implemented. These last two features obviously concern consoles only.

So, according to Capcom, but also according to early feedback, players should now experience less framerate drops in the most populated areas of the game like big cities. In addition, the 120Hz mode should make everything more stable, but “does not guarantee 120 frames/second” as Capcom notes.

With this patch, Capcom is staying the course and seems to be on the right track. But the studio is still taking a lot of time to improve the experience, which, three months after the game’s release, is still not optimal. The studio nevertheless assures that “more updates to improve framerate are planned for later“.

That being said, Capcom is also working to improve the content by fixing various bugs present within the game. As the patch note attests, this update fixes several problems related to the game’s quests, and also improves the quality of life of players by implementing various features relating in particular to inventory and equipment management which was particularly painful at the launch of the software. All these improvements are therefore pleasing, especially given the quality of the title which knows how to offer an enjoyable experience, as long as we are able to ignore all its flaws.
