The guitarist from Saint-David, Tommy Dupuis, will be performing on November 24 at the Maison de la musique in Sorel-Tracy. He will present his show The guitar of a thousand tones in a concert that he describes as a “homecoming”.

This concert is part of a tour as part of Jeunesses Musicales Canada, which began on October 23 in Baltimore, United States. Since then, he has performed in Montreal, Toronto and even Rouyn-Noranda where more than 300 people attended his show. “It’s new for me to present so many concerts in such a short time. But I love being on stage,” confides Tommy Dupuis.

Through his show, he addresses various eras, ranging from Bach’s suites to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Harold Arlen. “Playing in Sorel this Sunday will be like coming home. The Maison de la musique is an intimate place, it will be very pleasant,” he says.

After his Sorel concert, Tommy Dupuis will perform in Gaspé (November 26), then head to New Brunswick where he will present seven shows between November 27 and December 12. His tour will end in Sainte-Thérèse on March 16, 2025.

With a master’s degree in music acquired at John Hopkins University (Peabody Institute), he does not yet know what the future holds for him. He could head towards a doctorate or teach guitar in a CEGEP or university in Quebec. “I’m not closing any doors,” he concludes enthusiastically.
