The new ASUS VivoWatch 6 smartwatch appears with a blood pressure measurement function

ASUS has announced the VivoWatch 6 its new flagship smartwatch. This wearable watch is focused on health and wellness, with medical-grade ECG and PPG sensors. These allow you to take blood pressure and measure ECG at your fingertip using applications dedicated to the watch. It should be noted, however, that this is not an FDA-certified blood pressure measuring device.

The outer ring of the VivoWatch 6 has Bioelectrical Impedance (BIA) that lets you measure body composition using your thumb and index finger. You can monitor your body fat percentage, skeletal muscle, water content and basal metabolism. Other metrics include sleep tracking, relaxation index, based on your heart rate variability, and body harmony analysis, which records your daily emotions. You can also view these stats in the ASUS HealthConnect app, and Care Track lets you share your health and location data with your loved ones.

Additionally, the smartwatch has dual-band GPS for outdoor workouts, call and message notifications, a Find My Phone tool, and a Pomodoro clock. The wearable features a 1.39-inch (~35mm) AMOLED display with up to 350 nits brightness, protected by Gorilla Glass, and weighs 60g (~2.1oz). According to the company, it can run for up to 9 days, or 14 days in power saving mode. The ASUS VivoWatch 6 is expected to go on sale soon for £109.99; pricing for the US and European markets has not yet been revealed.
