After more than ten years of good and loyal service, this Nintendo employee has decided to leave the Japanese company to sail towards new horizons. If you own a Switch, you've probably already heard his work since he participated in projects like Zelda Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Mario Kart 8.
The Switch, a successful generation for Nintendo
While we imagine that his heir will be available next year, we can say that the Nintendo Switch was a more than successful generation for the Japanese manufacturer. After the failure of the Wii U, Nintendo's hybrid console sold more than 146 million copies, which allowed it to sell more than 1.3 billion games worldwide. A monumental success which has put the Kyoto firm back at the forefront of the video game industry by establishing itself as a player that is both essential and unique.
To establish its domination, Nintendo was able to count on games that served as a showcase for the console such as The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing: New Horizons or even Mario Kart 8 Deluxe which is the machine's best-selling game. These three titles have in common that they took advantage of the work of an employee who has just announced his departure from the company on social networks.

Nintendo says goodbye to one of its talents
On X (formerly Twitter), composer Yasuaki Iwata announced that he had left Nintendo last July. If his name is little known, you have surely already heard his work since he composed the music of the towns and dungeons in Breath of the Wild as well as the famous themes of Kass and his companions. If we owe him the retro tracks of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the ARMS soundtrack, his best-known work probably remains the main theme of Animal Crossing: New Horizons as the latter is so memorable. After joining Nintendo in 2013, the composer finally announced that he was leaving for new horizons with the following message:
I have a late announcement to make. In July of last year, I took a new direction by leaving my position at Nintendo. I would like to express my deep gratitude to everyone who has supported me over the years, to those who have appreciated my work and to everyone who has listened to the music from the projects I have been involved in.
I've been working on some new projects since leaving and hope to have the opportunity to share some of them with you in the near future. If anyone would like to continue following my journey, I would be very grateful and I hope you look forward to what happens next. Thank you very much for your continued support.
From now on, we can't wait to know the next projects on which the composer will work, both the latter was able to offer memorable themes to iconic Nintendo Switch games.
