You probably remember your favorite games from the 2000s, whether you played Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed, or GTA. In our last JV Fast, we looked back at 10 iconic games from the second half of the decade to give you a little refresher.
A context of innovation
Although the world of video games is constantly evolving, the new products of the 2000s are unparalleled until today. Already, in terms of machines, since the best-selling console of all time will be released in 2000 with more than 155 million copies: the PS2. A year later, Microsoft arrived on the market with on Xboxand we are witnessing the start of a historic rivalry with Sony.
In 2004, it will be Nintendo and Sony who will compete with their portable consoles: the Nintendo DS and the PSP. We will have to wait a bit for the Wii, which will burst onto the scene in 2006. The PC was also subject to significant advances, notably with the birth of Steam in 2003one of the first historical games of which was Half-Life 2.
