WhatsApp has finally rolled out a long-awaited new feature: the ability for users to save their messages as drafts before sending them.

There are messages that can take time to write, because the subject is complex, requires a little perspective or, simply, the time is not yet right.

In this type of case, WhatsApp did not offer any functionality until now. Indeed, when writing a message, if it was not sent immediately in the conversation, it was then lost forever. It was therefore better to use a note-taking application to remember to send it later.

However, WhatsApp has finally heard users’ requests by rolling out a new draft messages feature. Now, when you write a message, if you don’t send it right away, it will be saved as a draft so you can edit it later when returning to the discussion.

Drafts highlighted on the home screen

Discussions with draft messages are also highlighted on the WhatsApp home screen with a small mention “Draft» green, and then move to the top of the home page. This allows you to view, at a glance, messages that have not yet been sent.

The new draft feature is already available on WhatsApp, both on iOS and Android.
