The Elder Scrolls Online Update 44 Brings PvP Updates and New Companions

The Elder Scrolls Online Update 44 is available starting today on Xbox One, Xbox Series Additions to The Elder Scrolls Online, including improvements to PvP Battlegrounds and the introduction of two new companions.

As an update to the base game, Update 44 is available today on Xbox and PlayStation consoles, having launched on PC/Mac on October 28.

Update 44 brings major changes to quick combat in ESO PvP Battlegrounds. In this update, Battlegrounds are moving to two-sided PvP matches, instead of the traditional three-sided matches. At launch, there are two main types of battlefields: 4v4 – a competitive mode between two teams of four 8v8 – a standard game mode with bonuses and two teams of eight.

The traditional 4v4v4 game mode is no longer available for queues, but it may return for a limited time in the future, during special mini-PvP events.

Update 44 also introduces two new companions to ESO: Tanlorin and Zerith-var. Tanlorin is a combative high elf who combines soul magic and dragon knight skills, while the stoic Khajiit Zerith-var wields the power of necromancy. At launch, you will be able to obtain these two new allies for free with an active ESO Plus subscription or purchase them with Crowns in the in-game Crown Store.

To celebrate the launch of the new Battleground PvP mode, TESO is teaming up with content creator SypherPK and Alienware for the ESO Battlegrounds Brawl livestream on twitch.tv/bethesda at 7:30 p.m. on November 20. SypherPK is teaming up with ESO developers to take on players who think they have what it takes to win in Battlegrounds, with Twitch drops and other prizes up for grabs. Members of the ESO Streaming Team will also be going online in the coming weeks to put their PvP skills to the test.
