If you were already an experienced gamer in the 2010s, you certainly remember the Batman Arkham video game saga. More than 10 years later, the first opus could well make a comeback, but that should be taken with a grain of salt.

One of the best Batman games could be getting a remake

Even if you’re not a big fan of superheroes or just Batman, if you like action games and were already an avid gamer in the 2010s, you’ve certainly already played at least one of the games that make up the famous saga Batman Arkham. With three episodes developed by Rocksteady and a spin-off developed by Splash Damage, this saga immediately established itself as a real must-have and we can still find many of its innovations in recent games today. Since the release of Arkham Knight, however, players have continued to ask for a return of the saga without success.

A few days ago, the YouTuber Be Dark posted a message on Twitter claiming that Deathstroke and the Batman as he was in the Arkham saga should be included in the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League game in the final two seasons. According to her, this would go in the direction ofa remake project of the Arkham saga, and more precisely of its first opus Batman Arkham Asylum. She specifies that the production has already had the green light internally, according to her own sources. It must be said that the saga has indeed returned in a certain way with Batman Arkham Shadow, the new opus developed for virtual reality headsets.

Fans, however, are not convinced

Before jumping to the ceiling with joy, it would be good to remember a few things. First, if Vara Dark is quite popular with its own community, she has never really been a very reliable source when it comes to leaks and other rumors. Second, even if she were right, Not all gamers seem really excited about a Batman Arkham Asylum remake.

Indeed, even if its graphics could benefit from a little lick of paint, the game is still perfectly enjoyable to play even 15 years after its release. In addition, its level design and gameplay are a little dated but are part of the game’s charm (unlike its sequels which are more modern in their approach). Doing a remake of the first could therefore at best make you feel the age of the game or at worst distort it if they change the level design. Instead, many would like a brand new game in this universeor at least a new Batman game that holds up. In any case, for the moment, all this is only based on a rather shaky rumor. So we advise you not to give it too much importance until more solid sources start saying the same thing.
