Star Wars Outlaws, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Prince of Persia…: all the announcements from Ubisoft Forward

Traditionally, Ubisoft always takes advantage of the month of June to provide news of its projects. This year, the firm is no exception to the rule with a new Ubisoft Forward. The opportunity for the French company to show more fully two big, highly anticipated games and to place a handful of announcements… In addition to giving pride of place to the follow-ups of its already available titles. Here we go for the recap of what not to be missed.

New trailer and new preview of Star Wars Outlaws (PC, PS5, Series)

For fans of the George Lucas universe, this Star Wars Outlaws from Massive Entertainment has a particularity that other adaptations do not have. This is the first open world experience. We play Kay Vess, a scoundrel, accompanied by Nix, her familiar. She will explore the planets of the universe to try to seize various opportunities. The story falls between that of The Empire Strikes Back and that of Return of the Jedi. Suffice to say that some familiar faces will be out. Freedom will also be in place with phases in a speeder and others aboard the Trailblazer ship.

In addition to opening the conference, the game was able to be shown from various angles thanks to a gameplay demonstration lasting around ten minutes. The heroine goes to Mos Eisley to track down a triggerman. This is an opportunity to take a look at the possibilities and show the system of opportunities. Be careful of your reputation. The publisher also takes the opportunity to remind you that the game will be released on August 30, that pre-orders are open and that three days early access is granted to those who invest in the Gold edition or the Ultimate edition.

Finally gameplay for Assassin’s Creed Shadows (PC, PS5, Series)

The Xbox Games Showcase provided a first glimpse of Assassin’s Creed Shadows gameplay. It was also an opportunity for Ubisoft to attend its own event to see more. The publisher kept its promise by revealing a detailed presentation lasting around 13 minutes. This new episode scheduled for November 15 has two particularities. The first takes place in Japan, a destination in high demand by the community since the creation of the license. The second, it integrates two main characters with very different styles.

Indeed, Yasuke, the samurai, is brutal. Heavier, it confronts the enemy head-on. Naoe, the shinobi, is stealthy. She plays the infiltration card, recalling the good times of Tenchu. It is precisely these two diametrically opposed types of gameplay that are more fully shown. As a bonus, we get to explore Fukuchiyama and get a glimpse of the open world. Remember that this opus is more in line with the trilogy initiated by AC Origins than with the “return to the sources” marked by AC Mirage.

The Return of Prince of Persia The Sands of Time (PC, PS5, Series)

A candle, a flame that keeps hope alive, the message is strong. Yet there are no images showing the work being done on Prince of Persia’s The Sands of Time remake. There’s just one release window to get your teeth into: a vague 2026. The original game released in 2003 is a cult title that launched the Sands of Time trilogy. A true reference for the PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube at the time, it remains in the hearts of many fans. It was therefore not surprising to see that Ubisoft wanted to offer a remake. The latter was announced in 2020 but the first images led to an outcry. Ubisoft had to review its strategy in the face of mockery. As a result, we still have to wait.

Anno 117: Pax Romana (PC, PS5, Series)

A live-action, this is what is needed to announce the arrival in 2025 of a new opus of the Anno license. Anno 117: Pax Romana, its nickname, will allow you to find the license combining management and strategy. As its name suggests, the story will take place during the time of the Roman Empire. Ubisoft Mainz (Anno 1800), which is in charge of the project, specifies that this new opus benefits from a new visual identity with the objective of reflecting the spirit of community. In short, we should expect more “humor and fun in the narration”. Another little new feature, it will be possible to choose your departure province.

Monopoly (PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, One, Series)

There is no need to introduce Monopoly, it is undoubtedly one of the essential board games. It has also been adapted into a video game many times. Ubisoft will also try its luck since it plans to release an adaptation on all current media on September 12. The publisher promises more modern visuals to enjoy games of up to six in a living room, in addition to the planned online meetings. Last but not least, the experience can be adjusted, whether by customizing game elements or creating your own rules.

Just Dance VR: Welcome to Dancity (Meta Quest)

Just Dance is the famous dance game license from Ubisoft. Created to use the functionality of the Nintendo Wii’s Wiimotes, the license attracted a certain audience by taking advantage of motion detection accessories. With Just Dance VR, owners of Meta Quest 2, 3 or Pro will be able to dance in the world of virtual reality. 25 songs are on the program including Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen or Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen. The game will be available from October 15.

Full of DLC and Season Pass

The brand new free-to-play first-person shooter XDefiant will begin its Season 1 on July 2. Among other things, it will add the GSK faction of Team Rainbow, a new Capture The Flag mode and new maps.

Agents operating on The Division 2 will be able to launch into Season 2 of Year 6. First Renegade, its name, will allow everyone who owns the game to raise characters to level 40, even without holding Warlords of New York.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will welcome a story pack called The Skybreaker on July 16.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has just been updated. Divine Trials brings 22 new challenges. There are four sets of increasingly difficult challenges, just as many bosses and therefore just as many amulets to obtain. As a bonus, in September 2024, Ubisoft will release Mask of Darkness, a narrative DLC.

The 2D rogue-lite game The Rogue Prince of Persia also has the right to its update. Temple of Fire offers a new environment, two new monsters, an additional weapon and more.

The racing game The Crew Motorfest will also benefit from an update. You will have to wait until November to discover the start of Year 2 and thus explore the new island of Maui.

In a few dozen hours, on June 13 exactly, Season 2 of the eighth year of For Honor will be deployed. It will be a question of playing Master Katashi to defend the Seion Bridge. For this, it will be possible to use the Muramasa Saber which gives its name to the season.

For Skull and Bones, the developers played the two-in-one card. Concretely, the trailer allows you to discover season 2 Chorus of Chaos which is available… But also season 3 coming this summer. New monsters, new game modes, including 5v5 PvP, events, there is and will be plenty to do.

Ubisoft Bordeaux now offers a free-to-play shooting game. Arenas, balls, shots, it’s BattleCore Arena and it’s available now in Early Access on PC.
