JVMag – TEST – Logitech G515 Lightspeed TKL, un excellent compromis

I’ve never been really fond of short keyboards and even less of those with very low keys. The problem is that I use my keyboards for typing, the number pad is a necessity, and I prefer long keystrokes for writing. However, it must be admitted that these peripherals are practical for traveling and the flat keys offer a little something extra for gaming. Despite everything, after three months with this Logitech G515 Lightspeed TKL, I must say that I myself am very surprised. Here is my verdict on this product that made me change my mind.

Design and ergonomics

From the first glance, the G515 TKL seduces with its finesse and elegance. Logitech is gradually returning to something more solid while still retaining a certain charm. Its aluminum structure gives it a certain robustness while maintaining a weight of 880 grams. The “low-profile” mechanical keys, available in linear, tactile or clicky versions, offer a really interesting approach.

For the rest, The Logitech G515 Lightspeed TKL offers very classic buttons for connectivity as well as a game mode. Note that here there is no adjustment wheeleverything is done via a key combination (Fn). Good news all the same, our local manufacturer offers two height levels for the legs of its keyboard.

Last point on the overall appearance of this G515, the whole keyboard is heavy. A very good thing if like me you can’t stand having a device that constantly slips.

Connectivity and autonomy

The Logitech G515 Lightspeed TKL uses Logitech’s Lightspeed wireless technology. The latter guarantees a stable connection with almost non-existent latency. As a good portable keyboard, the product also offers a connection via Bluetooth. With the possibility of easily switching between two devices wirelessly and a third with cable.

Quick transition to autonomy, The Logitech G515 Lightspeed TKL promises up to 36 hours of use with RGB backlighting enabled. For my part, I have always exceeded this time since I decided to turn off the light on the keyboard.

Conclusion

There isn’t much more to say about this Logitech G515 Lightspeed TKL. It delivers exactly what you expect. Robust, sober, practical, autonomous with the addition of double connections, it is certainly a very good product to put in almost all hands. For my part, I must admit that I am not parting with it. Despite my editorial needs, my habits have changed. There remains the lack of the numeric keypad which can easily be filled. Obviously this “detail” does not impact the final grade.
