These 9 PS5 video games will be talked about in November 2024, a brand new Horizon and the return of Dragon Quest

Notice to all PS5 players: once again, the month of November promises to be quite busy and you will have to make one or a few choices among the slew of interesting titles along the way. We have prepared a nice selection, so you don’t have to worry.

Summary

  • Metal Slug Tactics
  • Planet Coaster 2
  • Metro Awakening
  • Slitterhead
  • The Rise of the Golden Idol
  • Tetris Forever
  • Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake
  • LEGO Horizon Adventures
  • Towers of Aghasba

We obviously know the Metal Slug saga for its long-term involvement in very brutal, very explosive 2D action: however, we did not expect such a revival with Metal Slug Tactics, a title which will explore the trail of roguelite and tactical-RPG. Believe it or not, but such a formula with an isometric view and a system of boxes on which to move, while keeping the artistic direction of the license and this deliberately naughty aspect, looks damn sexy: we can’t wait to see what it can do.

Planet Coaster 2

In this strategy and management game, you are at the head of the amusement park of your dreams. Build it, imagine completely crazy rides, express your creativity and bring in as many people as possible to develop your business and aim ever further. For this second opus developed by Frontier, customization has never been so advanced, as has management with a host of parameters to take into account, whether it is the maintenance of your machines or watching over your audience. If you like fun and colorful simulations, you will be served.

Metro Awakening

Do you have a PSVR 2? So Metro Awakening seems like an obvious choice: here you will play a new character in the saga, a doctor who lost his wife in the subway tunnels – in case you didn’t know, humanity took refuge underground after the nuclear apocalypse in Russia – and who will do everything to get it back. It’s simple, we are perhaps dealing with one of the most refined virtual reality games of the generation, with real care given to the atmosphere, the gameplay and the action. We’re praying that we’ll take a real Half-Life slap in the face of Alyx, who clearly seems to be a great source of inspiration.

Slitterhead

An independent game designed by Japanese studio Bokeh Game, Slitterhead has been eyeing us for a while now. Already, because it is directed by Keiichiro Toyama, the creator of Silent Hill, Siren and Gravity Rush (just that) and also because its enticing atmosphere just asks to envelop us in its nocturnal city with omnipresent neon lights: we play Hyoki, an amnesiac being who must take control of passers-by in the hope of tracking down and killing Slitterheads, demonic creatures who are discreetly encroaching on society. Exploration, fights where blood becomes a weapon and a very scripted investigation are thus to be declared: a program that is still quite attractive.

The Rise of the Golden Idol

Released in 2022, The Case of the Golden Idol was widely noted for its unique artistic direction and its particularly well-written plot. Imagine that The Rise of the Golden Idol, which is in question here, takes place 300 years later, no less! This time, we head to the 70s where we play a relic hunter determined to get his hands on a legendary artifact that would have the power to reshape the world. To do this, we will have to solve investigations, delve into criminal stories and depravity and meet characters each more twisted than the last. If you like atypical narrative games, you’ve come to the right place.

  • Available on: PC PS5 Xbox Series Switch PS4 ONE iOS Android

Tetris Forever

Because we never have enough Tetris in life, this new opus called Forever is a true tribute to the franchise that revolutionized video games on the occasion of its fortieth anniversary. The Digital Eclipse studio therefore offers here a huge declaration of love with more than fifteen Tetris games, all different, but also a completely new title and even documentaries everywhere. Whether for pure enjoyment, the historical side or to pull on the nostalgic string (it feels good, sometimes), Tetris Forever definitely promises to be a compendium of good humor and love. And we all need it, right?

A legendary franchise widely anchored in the Pantheon of video games, Dragon Quest returns very soon with a remake that will thrill fans: this time, Square Enix is tackling Dragon Quest III, originally released on Nintendo in 1988 and which here is an absolutely sublime makeover based on HD-2D, a process that uses 2D and pixel-art character models within 3D environments. The charming Octopath Traveler has largely democratized the genre and here we are with a cult adventure which clearly risks getting people talking about it.

LEGO Horizon Adventures

Without doubt one of the biggest surprises of the year: who would have thought that the Horizon franchise, one of PlayStation’s biggest spearheads, would team up with LEGO for an action-adventure and platform game unpublished? What’s more, which is released on PC and Switch alongside the PS5? Not us, we tell you frankly. But here we are before a fait accompli and in truth, this title developed by Guerrilla with Studio Gobo looks really very, very cool. Sparkling, funny, ultra-colorful, full of good vibes and playable both solo and in local co-op, LEGO Horizon Adventures is one to watch like milk on the fire, quite simply.

Towers of Aghasba

Do you like nature? Like, really a lot? Then Towers of Aghasba has a good chance of catching your eye. Here, it’s about exploring a quite fascinating open world where the fauna and flora are resplendent: we glide, we climb, we swim, we explore, we go to meet crazy creatures, we craft and we fight … It seems like nothing, this app looks quite ambitious: a real ode to adventure with a beautiful soundtrack, adorable artistic direction and lots of things to do. The icing on the cake: the whole thing can even be played with several people in online cooperation.
