Disney+ increased the prices of its Standard and Premium packages a few days ago: the first now costs €9.99, or €1 more than before (€99.90 per year), the second is now billed at €13 .99 € (+2 €, or 139.90 € for one year). The only ray of sunshine: the formula with advertising remains at €5.99, but obviously… there is advertising in it.
Disney+ hits the wallet
This increase is not a surprise. The Disney+ price list had already increased a few months ago in the United States. But it hurts all the more because it comes after the tightening of the screws on account sharing between relatives. Remember that four years ago, the single subscription to Disney+ cost €6.99 per month, without advertising, and with a much more flexible policy in terms of sharing identifiers!
And this increase applies to everyone, including Canal+ subscribers. Depending on the package subscribed, they can add Disney+ to the services accessible on the encrypted channel aggregation platform. Some might have hoped for a month or two reprieve from the old prices, but nothing: in fact, the prices of Disney+ options have increased the day before of the official announcement of the service.
Thus, Canal+ subscribers wishing to access Disney+ will also have to pay €9.99 per month for the Standard offer, and €13.99 for the Premium plan. Disney+ Standard with advertising remains at €5.99. For Canal+ subscribers whose offer includes Disney+ with advertising, the options for moving upmarket are also increasing, as specialist Anaël reports on Twitter: €4 for Standard (+€1), €8 for Premium (+€2 ). The same goes for those who benefit from Disney+ Standard without advertising, and who would like to take advantage of the Premium plan: the option now costs €4 (+€1).
The Canal+ catalog is also getting rid of the Disney pack, which combined Disney+ Standard, Disney Junior, Disney Channel, Disney Channel+1, National Geographic and National Geographic Wild.
There is even concern for the future of Disney+ within Canal+. The channel's official price sheet indicates that Disney+ will be present in the different packs until December 31, 2024. And then? Mystery and gumball. There are barely two months left to renew the agreement between the two groups.
