By observing the new achievements available in Cyberpunk 2077 since the arrival of the Phantom Liberty DLC, you will quickly notice that this famous extension has 4 different endings to conclude its scenario. Baptized King of Pentacles, King of Cups, King of Wands et King of Swordsthese can be unlocked depending on your choices in the quests Firestarter, The Killing Moon et Somewhat Damaged.
But in addition to these, The Phantom Liberty DLC also adds an overall ending to the base Cyberpunk 2077 game. While until now we had to settle for 5 different endings, all accessible from the famous Nocturne OP55N1 quest, you can now count on a sixth ending available just after the end of the DLC. This means that, if you choose to finish the game with this new choice, you won’t even need to do the entire base game to access it, just what is necessary to access Phantom Liberty and its entire main storyline. Be careful though, this new ending will have some different dialogues depending on your progress in the base game. Be careful, the following lines reveal major elements of the Phantom Liberty storyline.
To access the new quest, you will have to choose at one of these two times.
To access the new ending called “The Tower”, you will first have to unlock the famous quest “Who Wants to Live Forever”, which itself will lead to “Things Done Changed”. To do this, you will have to ensure that Songbird returns to the hands of the FIA. You can get there in two different ways.
If you chose to partner with Songbird in Firestartercontinue your journey until the end of the quest The Killing Moon. At this moment, just before heading towards the rocket, you will have the choice between handing Songbird over to Reed or eliminating the latter. If you want to get the new ending of the game, choose to hand Songbird to Reed (King of Swords ending).
If you chose to ally with Reed in Firestartercontinue your journey until the end of the quest Somewhat Damaged. At this time, when you are facing Songbird in the Heart, the latter will ask you to finish her off. If you want to get the new ending of the game, leave it alive for Reed to collect (King of Pentacles ending).
When is the point of no return in Who Wants to Live Forever?
Once you have handed Songbird over to Reed and therefore to the FIA, you will have completed the Phantom Liberty DLC and will have access to the latter’s credits (as well as its superb eponymous music worthy of the best James Bond credits). When you regain control of V, you will be entitled to a new quest which asks you to wait for Reed’s call. Note that the latter could well take several game days to arrive, so do not hesitate to abuse the command to wait faster from the pause menu or to occupy yourself otherwise by doing side quests.
After Reed calls you, you can go meet him in person to discuss your adventure and its consequences, then he will offer to call you back when he has more news on the cure he promised you. Again, wait several days for Reed to show up again, which should start the “Who Wants to Live Forever” quest.
First of all, note that this quest will serve as a point of no returnexactly like Nocturne OP55N1 did at the end of the base game. By the time Reed calls you back to tell you everything is ready, all you have to do is join the The rooftop of Misty’s Esoterica. and to discuss with Johnny to confirm your choice or not. If you choose to listen to the rockstar in your head and not call Reed, you can go back and do whatever you want, including accessing the other endings. Note that refusing to call Reed once on the roof does not remove your ability to access the new ending. You can always come back and call Reed anyway if you change your mind, and even call him at the point of no return in the Night quest OP55N1. When you are ready to finish the game through the new ending, call Reed.
You can then contact your loved ones to inform them that you will be absent for a few days, and will be entitled to several final farewell conversations with Johnny (who will not be able to survive the operation) while an FIA vehicle will pick you up and transport you to Langley, where the best surgeons in the country are waiting for you to remove the Relic chip.
