Good news for users of the future Galaxy A36. Currently in the prototype state, the device should in fact be powered from its debut on the market by the very latest version of Android: Android 15, launched in final version just a few days ago. The successor to the current Galaxy A35 (launched last March) was seen on Geekbench 6, with some information about it… including the version of its OS.

Samsung’s next Galaxy A36 will change its design, this is what it will look like

As a reminder, Android 15 was launched at the beginning of the week. It is currently only available on the latest generations of Google Pixel smartphones… and Samsung should not start deploying it on its devices before the start of 2025. The first Samsung smartphones powered by Android 15 will be the future Galaxy S25 , expected for January.

Logically, the Galaxy A36 will therefore be marketed subsequently, potentially in March, at least if Samsung sticks to the same schedule as in 2024.

Android 15 would quickly install on Samsung’s mid-range

In addition to the now probable presence of Android 15 on the Galaxy A36 as soon as it enters the market, the device could also have another good surprise in store for us in terms of software. And for good reason, we now know that the Galaxy A16 5G (more accessible) will normally be entitled to 6 major Android updates.

In this context, it is reasonable to hope for the same thing on the Galaxy A36. To explain it differently, Samsung’s new mid-range model could accommodate up to Android 21 in the future.

The Samsung Galaxy A36 would otherwise be powered either by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or by a Snapdragon 7S Gen 2. At least this is what we can deduce from the information displayed by Geekbench 6. According to this data, the mobile would also include at least 6 GB of RAM.

If this information turns out to be accurate, we will then note that Samsung is changing companies for this future product, abandoning its own Exynos 1380 chips for Qualcomm solutions.
