Surprises were presented during the Xbox conference dedicated to its partners, and it was Bloober Team who announced at Xbox its new franchise, called Cronos: The New Dawn.
A new survival horror game by Bloober Team
Bloober Team, the developers of Layers of Fear, Observer, The Medium and more recently Silent Hill 2, is back to unveil a brand new franchise!
In Cronos: The New Dawn, a third-person survival horror game, players will be immersed in a brutal and retro-futuristic world where survival is a constant struggle. The story combines time travel and the exploration of two distinct eras: a past marked by a cataclysmic event, the Change, which shook humanity, and a desolate future where deadly abominations lurk. This unique setting, inspired by Eastern Europe, promises an intense and captivating experience, and one feels a certain vibe Dead Space from the very first moments.
The player plays a Traveler, an agent of the mysterious Collective, responsible for navigating between these two eras to accomplish crucial missions. In the future, he explores wastelands in search of temporal rifts that will transport him to Poland in the 1980s, a time before humanity was profoundly transformed. The key to his mission lies in recovering the Essence of important individuals from the past, using a weapon called the Soul Harvester, allowing these figures from the past to accompany him into the future.
Combat in Cronos: The New Dawn relies as much on strategy as it does on reflexes. Nightmare creatures from the remnants of humanity will require the use of a varied and powerful arsenal. Quick decision-making, whether in battle or while exploring, will be crucial to survival in this brutal world. Carefully planning each action, anticipating enemy movements, and exploiting temporal rifts to your advantage will be essential to accomplishing the Traveler’s mission.
The developers promise a rich and complex story where every choice counts, and where the past and the future intertwine in a struggle for the very essence of humanity.
Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled for release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5 and PC in 2025.
