the solution to becoming invisible on the application

The WhatsApp application is full of little-known tips. You didn’t know it yet, but you can become invisible in two or three movements.

For the end of the year, Meta has decided to highlight the many new features regarding WhatsApp. By going to the settings, you have the option to become invisible.

The many new features of WhatsApp

WhatsApp has made changes to some key elements of its interface since this summer. For example, the search bar is now placed at the top of the Chats tab, making it easier to find conversations for users.

Additionally, for those on Android, the navigation tabs have been moved to the bottom of screen. This provides more intuitive access to the different sections of the application.

However, these changes are not the only new features of 2024. WhatsApp, one of the most used messaging applications in the world, plans to introduce a particularly anticipated feature: an integrated translator.

Although no official announcement has yet been made, the WABetaInfo site has discovered this feature in a beta version of WhatsApp. Indeed, Meta plans to allow users to directly translate messages received into another language.

This functionality, which would be powered by Google Translate, would not be seen enabled by default. It therefore leaves everyone the option of using it or not.

Moreover, no data would be sent to Google servers. Because the translator would work locally on the user’s device.

New things that are happening

Although the release date of this feature on the stable version of WhatsApp is not yet known, it would simplify the translation of messages. And this, without having to copy them in Google Translate or other similar applications.

This novelty was recently the subject of a revelation at a when Samsung also presented its new foldable phones. The Galaxy Z Fold6 and the Galaxy Z Flip6.

These devices include AI-based features. Including an instant translator that works with third-party apps like WhatsApp, which should delight users.

And since good news never comes alone, know that WhatsApp is working on other new features. Although the app is secure by default, it automatically shares certain information with your contacts.

Such as your acknowledgments of receipt, your last connection time or even your profile picture. If you want to further protect your privacy, you may prefer to limit the visibility of these items.

However, with the multitude of options available, it can be a little complicated to navigate. So here is a simple guide to adjusting these settings in a few minutes.

Staying invisible on WhatsApp is possible

To be invisible on the Meta application, simply open the WhatsApp settings. On Android, access it by tapping the three dots at the top right of the screen, then select the Privacy menu.

If you see a message asking you to check the privacy of your account, click Start checking. And follow the steps.

Otherwise, you can directly access the settings in the Privacy menu. One of the important options is Profile picturewhich allows you to define who can see it: everyone, only your contacts, some specific contacts, or no one.

In the Online Presence menu, you can also choose to hide your last connection time to all your contacts or just to some. However, if you turn this off, you will no longer be able to see other people’s login times.

Read receipts, which show whether you have read a message (via famous blue checkmarks), can also be disabled. Again, if you deactivate this option, you will no longer see whether your messages are read by your contacts.

Other useful options can also be found in the Privacy menu. You can choose who can see your bio and your current status, adjust the duration of your ephemeral messages, limit who can add you to groups or even deactivate calls from unknown numbers by muting them.
