Contrary to what one might believe, Apple has not rested on its laurels since the release of the Vision Pro. If a cheaper model is regularly mentioned, other projects remain under development in Cupertino.
If the last product to target a new market, the Vision Pro, was a relative flop worldwide, Apple does not seem ready to slow down the pace in the development of new devices. In his weekly newsletter Power On, journalist Mark Gurman explains that Apple is multiplying projects for the years to come.
The first of these projects are the highly anticipated Apple Glasses, in which Apple would integrate a summary of the Vision Pro technology. Here, however, it would not be a question of a complete AR display, but rather of technologies similar to those of the Ray-Ban Meta, thus integrating cameras, a speaker and a microphone. The Apple Glasses, expected for 2027, should be significantly cheaper than the Vision Pro which, in itself, is not very complicated.
Another product, which one has rarely heard of, would also be on the rails. These are AirPods whose charging case would be equipped… with a camera. However, it is difficult to see the usefulness of such a device, but the numerous patents filed by Apple support the release of such a product.
