Samsung was expected to introduce the One UI 7 interface based on Android 15 this year, but a presentation at the recent developer conference showed that the One UI 7 interface was not yet available at the developer conference revealed that the update had been postponed. It is now delayed until next year and will arrive alongside the Galaxy S25 series.
The update is expected to bring new features and an improved user interface. Ice Universe, a famous leak, has now given a glimpse of what the control panel interface could look like. The leaker shared a mockup rendering of the Galaxy S25 Ultra with One UI 7 elements on its screen.
As the render suggests, Samsung could implement a control center similar to the one found on Apple’s iOS 18 and Xiaomi’s HyperOS. In other words, there will be a separate notification panel, which previous leaks have already suggested.
Although subjective, this separate control center and notification panel on Xiaomi HyperOS makes the UI look a bit cleaner. The mockup render also shows that WiFi and Bluetooth have separate tiles in the Control Center, which will make it easier to switch from one to the other. There’s also a separate section with eight quick buttons that can be expanded with a swipe.
Beyond the elements of One UI 7, the rendering of the mockup shows the rumored redesign of the Galaxy S25 Ultra. As previous reports have hinted, on the render, the upcoming flagship has rounded corners instead of sharper ones.
It also shows that the screen has thinner bezels and is flat, both expected improvements over the screen on the Galaxy S24 Ultra (256GB currently $1,012.08 at Amazon). Thanks to these changes, the next flagship phone will apparently be nicer to hold than its predecessor.
