Mont-Rouge, new detective series with an Acadian flavor

The miniseries Mont-Rouge tour in Shediac, New Brunswick will soon be available on ICI TOU.TV EXTRA. Originally from Lamèque, Karène Chiasson plays the role of one of the main characters. She says she is very proud of achieving this challenge, but above all of seeing to what extent the production highlights the talent of Acadian actors.

Considered a dramatic and detective thriller, the action takes place in the small village of Mont-Rouge, a place without history, a tight-knit community where everyone knows each other.

A murder will shake the village. Two investigators, at first glance very different in their approaches, will have to work together to elucidate the mysteries that strike Mont-Rouge.

The atmospheric series Agatha Christie stars Quebec actor Normand Daneau in the role of Luc Doiron, homicide detective sergeant as well as local patrolwoman Manon Daigle played by Acadian actress Karène Chiasson.

He’s coming with his big hooves, he’s coming to my place!

Luc Doiron, an investigator using traditional methods, arrives in the village and thinks he knows how to go about getting answers. Manon comes from the area, she knows her community, she can’t believe that such a horror could happen.

He [Luc] I think he knows everything, it’s certain that he knows the job of an investigator well and that I’m just the patroller who follows him. He sees with an outside eye what is happening in the village and me [Manon] I don’t want to believe that. It is sure that there is a clashbut as they discover clues, they will get closer, says Karène Chiasson.

Acadian talent to spare

The series is an Acadie-Québec co-production between Connections Production and Productions Casablanca. The fact remains that the Acadian imprint is predominant in Mont-Rouge.

In addition to Karène Chiasson, the miniseries notably features on screen: Christian Essiambre, Tanya Brideau, Florence Brunet, Gabriel-Vincent Deslauriers, Mélanie Léger, Josiane Benoit, Océane Lanteigne, Tommy Des Rosiers, André Roy, Robert Gauvin and Luc LeBlanc .

Karène Chiasson, who also teaches dramatic arts at the University of Moncton, also had several actors from the series in her classes.
