New leak partially reveals Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 specifications

Several Geekbench listings have revealed what the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is, at least when it comes to the CPU and GPU. A new leak from Baidu now reveals everything there is to know about the upcoming flagship SoC, except for a few critical details. For starters, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 doubles the device’s GenAI capabilities. The CPU part is left blank, but we already know that it is equipped with an 8-core Oryon processor with 2 performance cores and 6 efficiency cores.

In addition, it will be delivered with LPDDR5X memory and not LPDDR6 memory as a previous rumor suggested. Curiously, the document does not indicate its throughput but specifies that it will operate in four-channel mode. Like its predecessors, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 supports UFS 4.0 (Gear 5) storage that can reach read/write speeds of 4,500/4,000 MB/s.

Other notable features include the Adreno 8 series’ Display Processing Unit (DPU), which can power a 3840 x 2540 pixel display at 144 Hz. It can output videos to an external display at a speed of up to 8K 60 FPS. The good sides of its Adreno 830 GPU are unfortunately not visible. But a previous leak claimed that it would offer a 40% performance increase with a peak clock of 1.0 GHz and 12 CUs.
