Job Description

Mon Resto Saint Michel is looking for a food security project manager who will be mainly responsible for managing food aid, developing and running the various cooking and nutrition workshops.

The project manager will work closely with the other members of the team for the smooth running of food repairs and for the development of workshops which are part of a member involvement process. The person will be responsible for developing and leading different types of cooking and nutrition workshops, with particular attention to developing an offer that can adapt well to the multicultural reality of the neighborhood and meet its needs. In synergy with the other speakers, the person will also help with the mobilization of participants and the supervision of volunteers.

Main responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage food aid operations
  • Collaborate in managing appointments for food aid
  • Support the community worker in the management of volunteers
  • Ensure management of supply, stock and surplus
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene and health standards during the various operations (troubleshooting, workshops)
  • Develop the content of the workshops according to the different projects
  • Make purchases for the different workshops
  • Prepare and lead workshops for different audiences (adults, children)
  • Help in mobilizing participants
  • Collaborate with different partners in the neighborhood food system

Other responsibilities

  • Collect the monthly calendar of activities and the organization’s newsletter
  • Feed the organization’s Facebook account with the activities of the component
  • Power the data management platform
  • Write and update documents, tools, reports as needed
  • Depending on needs, offer support to other members of the team and collaborate on other projects of the organization

Training/professional experience required

  • Relevant experience, and/or holder of a diploma in nutrition or a dietetic technique
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Experience/knowledge of the community environment
  • Ability to develop planning and produce reports and assessments
  • Excellent command of spoken and written French, basic English, another language an asset (Creole, Arabic, Spanish)
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment
  • MAPAQ certificate in hygiene and sanitation an asset
  • Driving license an asset
